This Christmas we light a candle for the miracle of surrogacy - for Julie and her family that gave us Sanna, the gift of life.

Waiting, waiting...

All the work is done...Puh.... now its time for Christmas peace to arrive in our house. Sanna has tried her red dress that she got from Una, she is ready for her very first Christmas and meeting Santa indeed! Merry Christmas everyone!

A "magic box" arrived today, sent from the other side of that big ocean you know... Sanna was most excited about the horde of yellow ducks :) while mommy and daddy had to shed some tears of joy while watching the wonderful DVD Julie and JP have made for us. We are both speechless and out of breath, both to see the essence of our very special and magical journey on TV and because of the craftmanship that lies in such a high quality production and all those beautiful pictures and videos. This movie will be graced with several Oscars for sure!!

Nora Annie, August, Mette & Werner visited us last weekend

Mette's birthday is the 29th of November and Nora Annie is eight yrs old on Desember third, we could not wait... Hanne made a wonderful cake, we had a little "pre-party" :) August fell in love with the "rock guitar" in the musik SPA (basement).

Happy Fathers Day!

For the very first time Tommy could celebrate Fathers day. We had a little party this morning with sweet cake and coffee on the bed - and pink roses from Sanna. Happy Fathers day daddy!

Half a year with all this joy and love, half a year since those magic days in Minneapolis.. We are so blessed having Sanna with us, to be allowed to be her parents is the greatest gift. Thank you Julie! And look at her - she is standing on her own feet ;)

Sanna got baptized this Sunday at Sømna. We had a lovely little family party and a wonderful sermon in the church. Sanna seemed to enjoy all the attention she got on her big day.

Miracle memories

For a year now I have not dared to delete this special text message from my cell phone. I have read it now and then with a big smile on my moth... Aug the 2. last summer we got the magic message from Julie that we were pregnant. Then the 25 she went to the clinic to get it confirmed and look for Sanna`s heartbeat. It sure did beat, no doubt about that. It was a very exiting day, we sat there waiting and waiting and suddenly this message arrived and the phone called. A true miracle!

Thumper was Sanna's nick name while she was floating around as an astronaut in Julies belly. She still lives up to that nick, but now we often call her "knotten" (little knob or small mouskito), but she is about to grow out of that title :)

Now we can meet the winter - we have made lots of strawberry jam and currant gel stored for colder days... yummi, yummi... still need to go out and pick some blueberries before I am satisfied... I just love this period of the year were we can gorge in Mother Natures sweet fruits :)

Hello sweet life...

We have been making strawberry jam this weekend... Sanna`s parents really felt sorry for her not being able to taste the sweet manna. Today the father just said; come on, lets try, it cant hurt... Sanna`s face shined up like a sun, and she looked totally thrilled after her first taste of magic strawberry and sugar...

Sweet goodbye...

to the magic moments of breastfeeding... for over 3 months I was able to nurse Sanna. It has been the most wonderful experience for me, and her too I hope :) During our holiday she just started to cry when I tried to nurse... the supply there was clearly just to little for our big growing girl... she knew how to tell me... So we had a nice little chat together, saying it was lovely as long as it lasted, now its time to move on again. From next week Sanna will be introduced for real food, in addition to the formula milk. Cant wait to see her face when we try the first spoon...

Back home again

We are back in Trondheim again after two great weeks off up north. Nice to go and nice to get back. Seems like Sanna has been growing even faster than usual when we were away. More pics to come!

Sanna goes to Sanna

Finally Tommys holiday is here. We are soon heading to our first summer vacation with Sanna. We will go up north to Helgeland. First we will stay one week in Sømna to Tommys parents. We look forward to meet grandparents, aunt and uncle and cousins and the rest of the family. Then we will also travel to Træna and stay at the island Sanna, that we have named our princess after. Here we will also meet family that have not met Sanna yet.

Cant wait to feel the smell of salt ocean and feel the wind in our faces. Sanna is ready, we have bought her a lifejacket so she is prepared for boatlife. A fancy pair of sunglasses she got too. Happy summer holiday everyone, see you again in two weeks!

Yes, she is three months old today, our little princess. Hipp hurra!

Summer in the city!

We are in the middle of a heatwave in Trondheim. That is rather unusual, and its funny; we are longing for a heat wave in the winter, but when its here its actually a little to warm for a cold Norwegian sole and body. When will there ever be balance :)

Sanna seems to enjoy the sunny weather though, suddenly being outside in just her diapers is a new experience.
